I know that the Lord maintains the cause of the needy, and executes justice for the poor. – Psalm 140:12

The ways in which people and God use power are set in contrast. Power corrupts us – when we have the means to assert our lusts and desires over others, we very frequently do it. But power expresses God – he has the means to lift up the fallen and restore the ruined, and this he continuously does.

Prayer: I welcome every manifestation of your power, Almighty God. Reestablish in my life the old orders of justice and peace, righteousness and love. Free me from the power of sin and release in me the power of your salvation. Amen.

I read the above, this morning. It caused me to think of God working in people’s lives. He does have the power to lift & restore! This He has done, is doing, and will do in people’s lives.

…free me from the power of sin & release in me the power of your salvation…

Wow — what a thought. Free me, and those my life touches and interacts with, and release the power of your salvation. I am hungry for that today.
