He is Risen. He is Risen Indeed !

That was the standard greeting of the early church. Whenever two Christians would meet they would remember the glorious fact that Jesus rose from the dead, that He proved that He was who he said He was, that He had authority in heaven and on Earth, that He had authority over death, hell and the grave. Whenever they would meet, one would greet the other with “He is risen!” and the other would respond, “He is risen indeed!” What a glorious greeting.

One response to “He is Risen. He is Risen Indeed !

The words, (“He is risen”) and the reply people will say “He is risen indeed” I understand was used by the early church as a greeting when Christians would see one another. I believe it may also be associated with later times perhaps in a prison that prisoners/guards repied to someone (He is risen again). I was attempting to tell my family today at Easter lunch and I am not sure of the story. Just wondering if you had an information concerning this saying.

    Thanks so much
